Chianti Means’ Final Social Media Posts Drew Attention After Niagara Falls Tragedy

The final social media posts of Chianti Means drew attention after the tragic deaths of the 33-year-old mother and her two young children at Niagara Falls in October 2024.

According to New York State Police, Means and her children, 9-year-old Roman Rossman and 5-month-old Mecca Means, went over a safety barrier on Luna Island at Niagara Falls on October 28, 2024. Investigators said the incident appeared to be intentional, while noting that the circumstances surrounding it were still being investigated.

In the weeks before the tragedy, social media posts reportedly appeared on an account associated with Means under the name Diamond Scott. Several of the messages referred to emotional struggles and her relationship with her daughter’s father.

One post expressed a desire to be loved, while another said she wanted her family back. Other messages reflected feelings of sadness, frustration and emotional distress.

The posts later received renewed attention as investigators worked to understand what had happened.

At the time, authorities conducted extensive search and recovery efforts involving multiple agencies. Police also stated that the children’s father was not suspected of involvement in the deaths.

The tragedy left relatives, members of the local community and those who had followed the family searching for answers.

Rather than providing a complete explanation of what happened, the social media posts offered only a glimpse into the difficult period Means appeared to be experiencing before her death.
