My Groom Smashed My Face Into The Wedding Cake — Then My Brother Suddenly Stood Up
My father died when my brother Ryan and I were still children, so when my relationship with Ed became serious, Ryan and my mother were the only family members I introduced him to first.
They both seemed to like him.
So when our wedding day finally arrived, I had no reason to believe anything could go wrong.
There were 120 guests celebrating with us. Mom looked happier than I'd seen her in years, Ryan stood proudly beside me, and Ed seemed thrilled to finally be my husband.
I genuinely thought I'd found the happiest day of my life.
Then came the cake cutting.
I had imagined something simple and romantic. We would hold the knife together, cut the first slice, and share it while everyone took pictures.
Instead, Ed suddenly grabbed my head and pushed my face directly into the wedding cake.
Everything stopped.
For several seconds, I couldn't even process what had happened.
Frosting covered my face and hair. My makeup was ruined, my veil was covered in cake, and pieces of dessert were scattered across my dress.
The room fell strangely quiet.
Some guests laughed nervously, apparently unsure whether they were supposed to treat it as a joke.
I wasn't laughing.
I could feel tears building as embarrassment and anger took over.
Ed, however, seemed completely amused.
He casually wiped some frosting from my cheek, tasted it, and smiled.
“Sweet,” he joked.
That's when I looked toward Ryan.
His expression had completely changed.
He slowly pushed his chair away from the table and stood.
His jaw was clenched.
I knew that expression.
Ryan wasn't someone who lost his temper easily. But I'd seen that look before, and I knew he was furious.
The conversations around the reception began fading.
People turned toward him.
Ed's smile disappeared.
Ryan took a few steps forward.
And then, in front of all 120 guests, my brother did something that nobody—including me—could have expected.
