Another stroke followed in July 2007, leaving her with additional speech and mobility difficulties. She continued receiving therapy at home while adapting to her health struggles.

Her death was confirmed by a representative and through posts shared on her Facebook page. She passed away from natural causes on June 13 at her daughter Shauna Bofill’s home in Vallejo, California. She was 70.

In 2020, she recalled friends calling in shock after hearing the reports and said she responded with humor while appreciating the love shown by fans.
